Skybound Games, iam8bit and Coin Crew Games have unveiled Escape Academy, an escape-room puzzle game set for launch this summer.
As the name suggests, the Escape Academy is a school that’s training up the ultimate escape room masters. You’re the establishment’s newest student, which means you’ll be undertaking a bunch of puzzles to prove your prowess. They include team-based challenges, exploration and time-pressured conundrums, all for the solving.
Between escape rooms, you’ll also get to explore the campus of the Escape Academy. This includes the cast, made up of eccentric professors, fellow students and facility staff. During their journey, they’ll also uncover a nefarious plot they’ll have to deal with too. The game’s development team is also made up of real-world escape room designers, so you can expect some tough challenges across the dozen-or-so hand crafted rooms.
You’ll be able to take on the game solo, or co-operatively with a friend thanks to online multiplayer. The game also features music and sound design by rapper Doseone, who’s also worked on the soundtracks of Gang Beasts and Enter the Gungeon.
Check out the game’s reveal trailer below. We can apparently expect Escape Academy this June on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’ll also be available immediately from day one via Xbox Game Pass.
