GSC Game World’s Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an amazing open-world survival game with thrilling combat, awesome visuals and an interesting, but still somewhat broken A-Life system. Since release, players have gone ham on making the game harder and more oppressive with some truly fantastic mods—check out the Desolation conversion for something truly nasty—but one modder is aiming for something different.
Stalker 2 meets Dishonored
Created by modder rbwadle, who also created the powerful Dodge mod for the game, you can now make use of Dishonored’s Blink mechanic within Stalker 2. Dubbed the “Bolt Jump” mod, available here, players can now use their trusty bolts to zip towards previously unreachable areas.
With the Bolt Jump mod installed, you can now look at the top of a previously unscalable building and launch your bolt on top of the roof. If the bolt does land on top, you’ll quickly zip to to the top of the building. If you whiff it and throw it at a wall like an idiot, you’ll be pulled towards the wall.
Rbwadle’s mod is yet another simple addition to Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl that gives players far more power than the base game. It may be a very minor tool, but the possibilities are endless, and give you a tonne of manoeuvrability against your enemies.
Combining the mod with rbwadle’s DODGE mod or their slow-motion Focus Aim mod, you’ll become a superhero within the Zone. While this may be a much different vibe than the oppressive, almost-powerless world of the base game, sometimes it is nice to experience a different take on the game.
With Stalker 2 being a huge success, developer GSC Game World is still hard at work on additional content for the game. At the time of writing, two expansions and a multiplayer mode are planned for the title, alongside the reintroduction of cut content that was scrapped before release.
