Enhanced development tools coming for Wii

The new development application is called NintendoWare and is being produced by Nintendo and HAL. It emulates Wii hardware on a PC, enabling developers to try out parts of their game without the need to load it up on a Wii dev machine.

At GDC Shimada also revealed Nintendo is working on an easy-to-incorporate fur-shading effect, and new motion recognition tools which will use the prior movement to predict the player’s next motion.

These tools, once ready, will be made available to both first and third parties.
