Elite: Dangerous will launch via Frontier’s online store priced £39.99, the developer has announced.

However, fans who pre-order the Mercenary Edition will receive a £5 discount and host of digital bonus content. Those who have already pre-ordered the final release version or backed the game during the Alpha or Beta stages will also receive the pre-order pack on release.

Elite: Dangerous Mercenary Edition features a digital copy of the game plus:

  • An additional Eagle fighter ship docked in a secondary location in-game
  • Exclusive pack of ship paint schemes
  • A ‘Day One’ ship decal
  • A digital players guide
  • A digital concept art book

Further in-game benefits will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are hugely appreciative of everyone who has demonstrated their support for the game by backing it through the early development phase or pre-ordering the game prior to release,” commented David Braben, CEO of Frontier. “Without those people, Elite: Dangerous would not be at the stage it is today. The Mercenary Pack is our way of rewarding them before we release the game.”

Elite: Dangerous is due to release later this year.
