Activision has confirmed the long-running speculation that Call of Duty would be getting its own subscription option.
Call of Duty Elite will launch on November 8 with Modern Warfare 3, according to the Wall Street Journal. VideoGamer.com’s coverage of Call of Duty Elite will go live this afternoon.
Call of Duty Elite features both free and premium options, with subscribers being able to access additional feature and Call of Duty map packs.
Everyone is able to access Bungie.net style statistics and join Facebook-like groups to allow users to meet and compete.
Call of Duty Elite exists alongside the games, and will not require you to pay to access matchmaking and online games.
Activision is still deciding on what the monthly subscription fee will actually cost.
Three Call of Duty games are in the top 10 list of games played on Xbox Live: Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops.
