The Shivering Isles is an official expansion for the award-winning The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and is coming to PC and Xbox 360.

This fully featured expansion will contain more than 30 hours of new gameplay, giving players access to an entirely new plane of Oblivion – the Realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Integrating into the original game, players will be able to continue playing an existing save game/character or choose to start from scratch.

Within the Realm of Sheogorath, players will explore the two sides of the god’s madness – the creative and the psychotic. Something is happening to the isles and Sheogorath looks to the player to be his champion and defend his realm.

The landscape of the Shivering Isles is a bizarre split between mania and dementia, filled with twisting dungeons, and more than a dozen new creatures. As the adventure unfolds, players will discover all new items, ingredients and spells, and the craftsmen of Crucible and Bliss can forge new armour and weapons.

The expansion will be released for PC at retail and will be co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games. Xbox 360 players will be able to purchase the expansion from Xbox Live Marketplace – at least that’s the current plan. No price or firm release date has been set.
