FromSoftware has dropped a new patch for Elden Ring, which is available to download on your console of choice right now.
As per the patch notes, the 1.3 update mainly focuses around stability and balance changes. However, some of the notable additions include some new NPC elements. These include the ability to record the icon and name of an NPC on the map after you’ve encountered them, which should make finding them again on your return much easier.
There’s some new summonable NPCs and an entirely new NPC named Jar-Bairn too. There’s also a few new quest phases for Diallos, Nepheli Loux, Kenneth Haight and Gatekeeper Gostic. A few bugs have also been squashed, including one that prevented summoned NPCs from taking damage in certain boss fights.
Balance changes are also aplenty in this new update. Drop rates for the Smithing Stone have been increased, and it’ll appear in shops much earlier now. Shields should now be more effective, and all offensive cracked pot items will do more damage. Conversely, damage has been reduced on Ash of War and Hoarfrost Stomp. You can check out the full patch notes for yourself over here.
The latest patch comes as publisher Bandai Namco is celebrating Elden Ring reaching the milestone of 12 million units in just three weeks, meaning it’s outsold every other Soulsborne game from FromSoftware in the same period. You can read our review right over here.
