In Pony Friends players will have a choice of six real life pony breeds, all of which can be customised to create your own unique pony friends. A total of three ponies can be kept in your stables at any time. Players will also be able to personalise each pony’s mane and tail colours, and dress them with accessories, saddles, shoes, blankets and bridles.

Pony Friends is a very exciting project for Eidos. We’re fulfilling every child’s dream by giving them their very own portable pony. Players will have so much to occupy their time with from caring for and grooming their ponies and snapping photos whilst riding picturesque country trails to teaching their pony new tricks and entering them into a variety of competitions.” Said Helen Clark, Brand Manager Eidos.

In order to keep your ponies happy and healthy you’ll have to regularly care and groom them: brush them with the stylus, clean them with shampoo and conditioner, and use the stylus to remove stones from their shoes.

Your ponies can also take part in events that occur throughout the year, with the ultimate goal being to win first prize in the prestigious Perfect Pony Competition.

Strangely Pony Friends isn’t out until 2007, missing the Christmas period that proved so lucrative for Nintendogs.
