Superannuation reports that Eidos has filed a trademark registration for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, believed to be the title to the in-development video game sequel.

Eidos hasn’t exactly been shy about talking about a sequel, despite a less than spectacular reception to the first game.

Speaking back in May, Eidos president Ian Livingstone said that developer IO Interactive was working on three titles: Mini Ninjas, Kane & Lynch 2 and a new entry in the Hitman franchise.

Regarding Kane & Lynch, Livingstone said: “There’s a target date for September, but as you understand, these games often slip because the production times are so difficult to predict due to the amount of work they have to put into them now in high-end consoles. It’s a tough business.”
