eFootball 2023 will be arriving this month in the form of a season update, Konami has confirmed.

Rather than a new game, Konami will be updating the existing game with a load of new assets and, we hope, improved graphics.

“We will continue collecting as much feedback from our esteemed users as possible, and will keep improving and implementing new features to make the game even more enjoyable for even more football fans,” Konami said on their Twitter account.

Konami also confirmed in-game assets and other data will be carried over from the previous game.

The following in-game assets will be carried over – as per the official eFootball website:

・ eFootball™ Coins

・ GP

・ eFootball™ Points

・ Player Data

・ Manager Data

・ Objectives

・ Login Bonus

・ In-game Items

・ Settings

The following in-game assets may suffer changes:

・ Player and Manager Affiliations

・ Player Card Designs

Additionally, players that are no longer available will be replaced with in-game items of equivalent value.

eFootball 2023 release date prediction

There is yet to be an official release date for the new season of PES, apart from saying it’ll be ‘late August’.

With that in mind, it’ll likely be week-commencing August 29 when fans will be able to get their hands on the game – nearly a month before FIFA 23 is released.

eFootball 2023 Community reaction

The community has been divided over the news to release an update rather than a whole new game.

One gamer on Twitter wrote: “Is this a joke”. Another added: “Delete the game, it’s a small project. We had better graphics in a 386.”

It is not known yet what will be included in the update, but as per last year, the game will be free to play.

Meanwhile, EA recently announced a load of changes coming to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

In a livestreamed reveal on EA’s YouTube channel, gamers caught a glimpse of a new, shared FUT market, stadium upgrades, changes to chemistry, positions and much more.

A World Cup mode is also confirmed, and will live within Ultimate Team. However, we will have to wait for another announcement nearer the time before we see more.
