Mastiff has announced that Major League Eating: The Game will be a launch title for the Wii’s WiiWare service on May 12 in North America. We’re promised “extensive” use of the Wii Remote to simulate the fast and furious action of professional eating.
“Watching Major League Eating is like watching poetry in motion” says Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff. “Professional gurgitators have the grace of ballerinas yet the brute strength, mental focus, and intestinal fortitude to push their bodies and minds as hard as athletes in any other extreme endurance sport. Victory is sweet and defeat can be well, really, really messy. It’s an experience we’re proud to help bring into the home.”
In Major League Eating: The Game players will take control of a food athlete and compete in a variety of food events. Eating might sound like something any regular person could do, but in Major League Eating players will need to master moves including bits, burps, belches, mustard gas and jalapeno flames.
Mastiff isn’t skimping on features either, promising support for two players, online play and online leaderboards.
Major League Eating: The Game is scheduled for release on May 12 in the Americas, but with no confirmed launch for the WiiWare (Wii Software) Channel in the UK we’ll have to wait for confirmation of its release here.
