Earthrise, the sci-fi MMO that launched February of this year, will be going free-to-play.

Beginning December 1, users will not be able to purchase monthly subscriptions as the conversion to free-to-play will happen January 1, Ve3D reports.

Its studio, Masthead, will make a boxed version available in stores which gives players access to the “premium” version of the game.

Earthrise is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the surviving population of Earth has built a new totalitarian society. The MMO’s engine will be used in Masthead’s upcoming Fallout Online.
