EA is working on a fix to resolve the freezing issues experienced by some Madden NFL 25 players.

Multiple players have reported problems with the game persistently locking up over on EA’s official forums, with some suggesting that the issue may lie with a recent title update.

According to their reports, the majority of lock-ups appear to occur when the game attempts to connect to EA’s servers, but users are also reporting issues when attempting to play a match in any one of the game’s modes.

Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game appear to be affected.

“We are aware that some players are experiencing intermittent freezing issues while playing Madden NFL 25,” read an update on EA’s help centre in response to the reports.

“Our team is investigating the cause and is working on a resolution so that we can get everyone back into the game. Thank you for your patience, and for supporting EA Sports!”

EA’s twitter account added that it hopes to resolve the issue “as soon as possible”.

Madden 25 launched on Tuesday in North America and is due to release tomorrow in the UK. An Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version is also expected to be available in November.
