With Activision’s Modern Warfare 2 expected to shatter previous sales records, it comes as no great surprise to hear that EA’s revitalisation of its Medal of Honor franchise will take some inspiration from Infinity Ward’s blockbuster. Medal of Honor is getting a modern war makeover.
“It’s a new take on the modern warfare idea – and will really help give the series the kick up the arse it needs,” a reliable industry source told MCV.
EA has told MCV that it has nothing to add following the publisher’s confirmation of a new Medal of Honor game during its Q2 earnings call.
Gamers aren’t expected to have to wait long for solid info on the new title; MCV understands it will be announced before Christmas, with a February/March 2010 release date on the cards.
