EA has signed comic book writer Mark Millar, of Ultimate X-Men fame, and artist Terry Dodson (X-Force, House of M) to work on the Super Hero fight fest Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects on PS2, Xbox, GameCube and PSP. Rise of the Imperfects sees a group of established comic book heroes joined by a whole range of new characters, dubbed the imperfects. Well known comic book heroes in the game include Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man. Mark Miller will be producing back stories for the imperfects and Terry Dodson designing character concepts.

It’s been an incredible experience to see this new family of Super Heroes come to life from initial stages of character development to the videogame screen,” said Millar. “Videogames are not all about mashing buttons anymore; they’re filled with intriguing stories and memorable characters. I’m thrilled to be a part of this project.”

Rather than being a traditional side-on fighter, Rise of the Imperfects is played in large arenas, giving players full 3D movement, in a similar way to Capcom’s classic Power Stone series that appeared in arcades and on the SEGA Dreamcast.

Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects is scheduled for an autumn release.
