EA Playground was first revealed early last month, but today EA has official confirmed the game’s development for Wii and Nintendo DS.

In development at EA Canada, Playground features game that are easy to pick-up-and-play by fully capitalising on the unique control mechanics of both the Wii and DS. Players will find themselves swinging the Wii-mote to excel in tetherball, or blowing into the DS microphone to fire spitballs or battle friends and family in dodgeball.

Although designed to excel as a multiplayer party game, EA Playground will also offer fun for the solo gamer. Explore the game world, entering different locations, unlock new activities, make wacky new friends and collect rewards and stickers to upgrade your abilities.

Kids can bring the excitement of the playground home, and parents or even grandparents can re-experience their childhood thrills,” said Executive producer Dave McCarthy.

EA Playground is scheduled for release on Wii and Nintendo DS this autumn.
