PC gaming is live and well, it’s just moved into the online space, EA’s Darkspore executive producer Michael Perry has told VideoGamer.com.

Asked for his opinion on the state of PC gaming, Perry said: “Well, it’s been really interesting to watch because I think that a lot of that debate has been really focused on traditional PC gaming, and single-player games. But the reality is PC gaming hasn’t gone anywhere, PC gaming has gone online.”

The evolution of PC gaming has played a major role in the development of Darkspore.

“That really influenced us with Darkspore because we also wanted to make sure Darkspore is the kind of game you can play with your friends or play against your friends,” Perry added.

Darkspore is scheduled for release on April 1.
