Popular life simulator The Sims 4 has been made absolutely free for a week on PC and Mac via EA's Origin service, the company has announced.

As per the official game's Twitter, anyone wanting to claim a copy of the game just has to either log in to their Origin client or visit the official website from now until May 28 to claim a free copy of the game at no cost. It is, as probably expected, just the base game so don't expect any of the game's multitude of add-ons and expansions since its original 2014 release (free content and updates aside) but it's still a generous helping of a free game.

The Sims 4 is currently available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – you can read up on our review of the original release right over this way.
