The open-world Star Wars title in development at EA's Vancouver studio has reportedly been cancelled, according to Kotaku.

The game was originally in development at Visceral Games until its closure in 2017, although at that point it was a linear action-adventure helmed by Uncharted's Amy Hennig. When EA Vancouver took over, the direction of the title shifted into an open-world affair.

Kotaku's article further adds that the Star Wars game was known as Orca, and had players controlling a bounty hunter while working with different factions across the universe and exploring open-world planets. The title was early on in development when it was scrapped.

Reportedly, EA decided to call time on the project as it they needed a new game in shops earlier than Orca's planned release. In wake of its cancellation, the studio is instead working on a new Star Wars project of a smaller scale, which is supposedly slated for release in late 2020.

Nothing official has been announced at this point, so keep that in mind for the time being.
