With Microsoft having secured a timed-exclusive European release for Rock Band, PS3, PS3 and Wii gamers are being made to wait for their rock fix and currently EA isn’t revealing exactly how long the wait will be.

Back when the European launch of the Xbox 360 version was announced the press release stated the game “will be available for additional platforms later this summer”, which suggested a release window of June-August.

Back in April an August 29 release date slipped onto a Rock Band fact sheet, although this was later described as an “error”.

Online retailer Play.com has now sparked a rumour that non-Xbox 360 gamers will be waiting even longer for Rock Band, listing both the PS3 and PS2 versions for release on September 26.

There’s no reason to be too concerned over the release date just yet though. EA told VideoGamer.com: “We haven’t had any confirmation on that release date at all. We don’t know where that’s come from. That’s definitely not confirmed.”
