Following the smashing success of Fallen Order in 2019 and Survivor in 2023, EA has announced that “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players,” confirming that Cal Kestis’ harrowing tale in Star Wars Jedi is set to end in the series’ next installment.
According to EA Entertainment and Technology president Laura Miere during the company’s Investor Day live stream, “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.” However, since the game is likely still in its early production phase, neither a title nor a potential launch window has been revealed, so it’s currently unclear when you can get your hands on the final episode. But if the past time frames are any indicator, you can probably expect it in either 2026 or 2027.
She later added that “over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi,” reinforcing the series’ popularity with both long-time franchise fans and newcomers alike. Although EA didn’t indicate what their plans were once the series concludes, they’ll likely continue developing more stories and games in the Star Wars universe, as Miere finished by saying that their “industry-leading teams will lay the foundation for innovation and the potential for new IP in the future.”
Despite the potentially long wait for the third and final episode, let alone trailers teasing its story and gameplay, the sprawling intergalactic world of Star Wars hasn’t exactly been lacking in content after Ubisoft recently released its own spin on George Lucas’ generation-spanning creation.
