Dying Light has become the most popular title in Techland’s history with over 3.2 million people having played the game since its release in January.

In the 45 days since launch, players have killed 378,672,587 zombies and travelled over 150m km. Over 5 million survivors have been saved, too, which the developer says is enough people to “populate Ireland”.

“Since its release, Dying Light has been occupying top spots in sales charts across the globe,” a Techland representative said in a statement provided to VideoGamer.com. “Techland’s latest zombie title has already become the No.1 best-seller in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Sweden, Australia and many other major markets.

“Today Techland announced that within 45 days since launch, the count of Dying Light players reached 3,200,000 people. With that timeframe applied, it makes Dying Light the most popular title in the company’s history.”

Dying Light launched digitally in January before rolling out at retail one month later, breaking records in the US to become the fastest-selling new IP in the survival-horror genre.

A free content update for the game released last week introducing a brand new Hard Mode, with additional maps, modes, skills, quests and more due to roll out in the future.

Besides Dying Light, Techland previously developed Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide and games in the Call of Juarez series.
