The delay will come as bad news to Dungeons & Dragons fans, but there is some good news – The public alpha testing period begins today. Wannabe heroes need to register on the official Dungeons and Dragons website, but those with message board accounts on the site will be given priority.
Stormreach is built around the 3.5 edition of the Dungeons & Dragons rules, and is the first MMORPG to use the D&G license. The game worlds are small and have low populations in order to build a closer community. Gaining experience and treasure will depend on quests completed, rather than the number of enemies killed.
Turbine, the developer behind the game, is known for the Asheron’s Call series and is working on another high profile licensed MMO – The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar.
