Dungeon Siege III, the latest instalment in the long-running action-RPG franchise, will be released across Europe on May 27, Square Enix has announced.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the franchise will make its debut on Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to appearing on PC.
Players assume the role of one of four legionnaires in the crumbling kingdom of Ehb, fighting for the sake of their fallen comrades. You’ll be able to fight alone or alongside up to three friends thanks to seamless drop-in drop out co-op multiplayer.
“With Dungeon Siege III we are bringing the rich world and lore of Ehb to an all new audience,” said Ned Browning, brand manager at Square Enix. “The depth of story and wealth of characters and classes will take players on an incredible journey whether in single player or with up to three friends online.”
Available exclusively for pre-orders, a limited edition Dungeon Siege III pack will be available in PAL territories, including four unique in-game items enhancing and increasing your characters’ abilities.
Dragon Age II hits stores on March 11, meaning Square Enix is giving action-RPG fans a good few months to hack and slash their way through that adventure before hopefully handing over the cash for Dungeon Siege.
The PC edition is, however, likely to face strong competition from the highly anticipated Witcher 2, due to hit stores on May 18.
