Details on the multiplayer modes found in the upcoming Duke Nukem Forever have been revealed via the pages of Official Xbox Magazine.
According to the magazine, DNF will support a maximum of eight players (four vs four teams), across four game modes: Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe and Hail to the King (King of the Hill).
10 maps will be available at launch, including a remade Dukeburger where all Dukes are miniaturised.
Capture the Babe is Duke’s take on Capture the Flag, with teams required to protect their babe while also attempting to take the other team’s babe.
Confirmed weapons include the pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, RPG, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devestator and tripbomb. Some multiplayer maps will also feature jetpacks, while Holoduke cloaks players making sneaky melee kills possible.
Steroids will also be scattered around maps, making Duke a one hit kill machine, whilst also increasing his running speed.
While about as far away from the likes of Call of Duty as possible, DNF’s multiplayer will sport an experience points system. Points earned can be cashed in to customise your Duke.
Duke Nukem Forever is scheduled for release on May 6, 2011.

Anyone who enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D’s multiplayer back in the day will be pleased to see that Duke Nukem Forever’s experience sounds like it will be harking back to those days. We’re not sure how the Call of Duty generation will feel about it though.
