Nintendo has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that the Nintendo DSi sold 600,000 units in the US and Europe during its first two days on sale. The sales were split evenly across the two territories.

Speaking during a presentation at the Foreign Correspondent’s Club of Japan in Tokyo, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and senior director Shigeru Miyamoto also announced that there will be no price cuts for the Wii or the DS, despite an apparent decline in sales in Japan. The platform holder also reiterated that it has no plans to enter the mobile phone market, an area in which the iPhone currently dominates the gaming sector.
