Go Nintendo has dug up some new info on the upcoming Nintendo DS version of Ubisoft’s stealthy action title Assassin’s Creed.

Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles is to be a prequel to the home console title, offering gamers new story elements to flesh out the Altair character.

The game will also sport a 3D rendered game world, although the tiny screens on the back cover suggest the game won’t feature a 3D world to explore. Instead 3D visuals will be used to ad depth and detail to proceedings. Most of the Altair move set will return, including acrobatics, sword-fights, stealth assassinations and combo attacks.

Although a traditional control scheme looks set for the bulk of the title, stylus control is promised for performing interrogations and pickpocketing.

The game isn’t currently listed on the Ubisoft release schedule, but a 2008 release is expected.
