Last month, during a financial results conference call, EA revealed that a Dragon Age sequel would be hitting stores between January and March 2011. It now appears that this sequel has an official release date.
1UP reports that inside the retail edition of the Dragon Age: Origins Awakening expansion (PS3 version) they found a placard featuring the franchise’s blood-red dragon and the date “02.01.2011” – February 1, 2011 in UK date format.
It’s unusual for a game to be given a release date so early, but February 1, 2011 does fall on a Tuesday – the traditional release day in North America. It seems unlikely the date is referring to anything but the sequel.
