Bungie has announced the March playlist update to Halo 3, including a number of tweaks to the matchmaking experience and the introduction of DoubleXP Weekend playlists.

The first of two DoubleXP playlists goes live today, with the second set for March 20. Beginning today is Grifball, an unranked, weekend-long social playlist awarding DoubleXP to winning teams. This playlist will be active until March 10 and there will be tournament prizes.

The second begins on March 20 and sees the return of Team SWAT. It’s an old Halo 2 game type where players have no shields and no radar, but increased health. It’s eight-player maximum and is completely Team Slayer focussed. The playlist will run until March 23.
