Double Fine has revealed Trenched, a new Microsoft Game Studios project in development for Xbox LIVE Arcade.
The game was revealed during the Game Developer’s Choice Awards by studio boss Tim Schafer.
In the game players will fight against an invading alien force as part of the Mobile Trench Brigade, a group of humans levelling the playing field through the use of giant customisable mechs.
Schafer described Trenched as “extremely, extremely manly”.

Double Fine has already put out the rather good downloadable games Costume Quest and Stacking, but these have been released across multiple formats. Trenched is being made for Microsoft – the platform holder owns the copyright and trademark – meaning this impressive looking digital title won’t be heading anywhere near the PS3.
