Doki Doki Literature Club developer Dan Salvato has announced that he will produce new content for the visual novel and continue his work on a totally original visual novel (via Reddit).
This will be the year I reclaim my happiness so I can deliver it to others! My goal is to fully return to doing things I enjoy, such as making games. First releasing new DDLC content (not a sequel), then blowing the dust off my next original VN which has been on hold for 2 years.

“This will be the year I reclaim my happiness so I can deliver it to others! My goal is to fully return to doing things I enjoy, such as making games,” he said on Twitter. This will take the shape of new content for Doki Doki Literature Club, and “blowing the dust off” an original visual novel concept from Salvato. No time frame was provided for these additions and projects, but spirits are high following Salvato’s announcement. Additionally, he is looking to bring Doki Doki Literature Club to conventions in the coming year, which suggests that he will have some news to share soon.
What conventions would you like for me to visit this year?? Tag your favorite con to let them know you'd like to bring DDLC to your city 🙂

Before Doki Doki Literature Club, the developer was known for his Super Smash Bros. Melee mods. Wishing to create a game that messed with conventions, Salvato’s Doki Doki Literature Club appeared to be a sweet and adorable visual novel about a high school book club. The game was commended for its intriguing and disquieting use of horror and the twists that occur outside of the game, and it won IGN’s People’s Choice Best PC Game of 2017 award and SXSW’s Matthew Crump Cultural Innovation Award.
Doki Doki Literature Club is out now on PC.
