Doctor Who: Worlds in Time is now available, BBC Worldwide Digital Entertainment and Games has announced.

The game will be the first browser-based free-to-play MMO based on the TV series, and is created in partnership with Puzzle Pirates developer Three Rings.

Doctor Who: Worlds in Time is said to include a sci-fi narrative coupled with micro-missions for casual pick-up-and-play users. The game has you meet the Doctor within his TARDIS, then travel to various different planets including Ember, Mars, and New New York to defend against the Autons, Clockwork Robots, and Zygons.

BBC Worldwide is also stepping into the world of gaming with a new Jane Austen game for Facebook.

The Doctor Who browser-MMO can be found on the official Doctor Who: Worlds in Time website.
