Fresh from a dominant 2015 which saw Disney set a new company record in box office takings of $5.85 billion, no fewer than 13 movies have been scheduled for release by Disney in 2016.
The firm is still cashing in on Star Wars: The Force Awakens so we don’t see any major releases until March 4 with the animated Zooptopia, followed on April 15 by the live-action Jungle Book.
Other major releases include Captain America: Civil War on May 16, Alice Through he Looking Glass (May 27), Finding Dory (June 17), The BFG (July 1), Doctor Strange on November 4, and Rogue One on December 16.
Also look out for the remake of Pete’s Dragon on August 12, which tells the story of a boy called Pete who makes a special friendship with a dragon called Elliott.
Disney’s got a second animated film coming called Moana, which is described as an adventure story about a girl on a mission to prove herself, with the aide of a demi-god, Maui. Dwayne Johnson voices Maui.
