The leaks were real: Star Wars is coming to Disney Infinity this year with the release of Disney Infinity 3.0.

Releasing on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC, iOS and Android this autumn, Disney Infinity 3.0 will come bundled with a new ‘Twilight of the Republic’ Play Set which tells the tale of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka in a story set after the events of Star Wars: Episode 2.

Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Darth Maul figures will be available to purchase separately (as per last week’s leak) with DmC: Devil May Cry developer Ninja Theory returning to develop the Play Set.

A separate ‘Rise Against the Empire’ Play Set developed by Studio Gobo will also be available to purchase separately that follows the events of the original Star Wars trilogy, and includes figures of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Darth Vader, Han Solo and Chewbacca will be available separately, with either set of figures compatible with both Play Sets.

A third Star Wars Play Set based on this year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available later this winter, too, with further Play Sets based on upcoming Pixar movie Inside Out and the Marvel universe also in development. The latter is being created by Sleeping Dogs developer United Front Games.

Sonic All-Stars Racing developer Sumo Digital has signed up to work with Avalanche on Disney Infinity 3’s driving, with the Toy Box getting an “updated hub world, toys for new players and experts, and the addition of an all-new farming system”.

And if you want new characters to play with in Disney Infinity 3.0’s Toy Box, you’ll be able to choose from Mulan, Olaf, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Tron Legacy’s Sam Flynn and Quorra and more when the game goes on sale later this year.

More details on Disney Infinity 3.0 will be revealed throughout May, but for the first gameplay footage, head through to Game Informer.
