A version of Disney Infinity 2.0 without the Marvel Super Heroes Play Set included will be available to purchase ahead of Christmas, Disney has announced.

Launching in the UK on November 7, the Disney Infinity 2.0 Toy Box Combo Pack features the full Disney Infinity 2 game along with the Disney Infinity 2 base, two Disney Originals figures (Merida and Stitch) and two Toy Box Game Discs, but will only provide access to the game’s Toy Box mode.

In order to access the story-based content, including the Marvel Super Heroes, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man content, you’ll need to purchase the Play Sets separately.

“Disney Infinity fans spend the majority of their time inside the Toy Box mode, and with our new Toy Box Starter Pack, we’re giving Disney fans an alternative entry point to the Disney Infinity sequel,” said John Blackburn, vice president and general manager of Avalanche Software.

“We’ve completely re-tooled the Toy Box for this year’s version of Disney Infinity, and we want every Disney fan to experience it using their favourite Disney or Marvel characters.”

A price for the Toy Box Combo Pack has yet to be announced, but should appeal to Disney fans who aren’t all that interested in the new game’s Marvel content.

Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes launches on September 19 and contains the full game, the Marvel Super Heroes Play Set and three characters: Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow.
