That’s right, Marvel Studio’s latest blockbuster release will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ from September 8th, a mere two months after it’s theatrical release.

The release window between theatrical release and home release is getting ever smaller.

I mean, I remember the days when you had to wait at least a year to two years for a home release of your favourite movies….

Yes, I am unsurprisingly that old, haha.

Thank god those days are long behind us, eh.

Anyway, enough of my reminiscing. For the potentially 5% of the planet who don’t know the story of Love and Thunder, here is a quick recap, no spoilers for the movie though.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (played once more by Chris Hemsworth) has spent his time travelling the stars with the Guardians of the Galaxy as he tries to find his place in the universe once more.

But a deadly threat stalks from the shadows with his eyes on not only Thor but on all who call themselves a god.

For Gorr The God Butcher (played by Christian Bale) has arrived seeking the death of all gods and it will take everything Thor has along with the help of King Valkyrie (played once more by Tessa Thompson), Korg (played once more by Director, Taika Waititi), and The Mighty Thor/Jane Foster (played once more by Natalie Portman) to stop this terrifying threat.

Pinocchio

The first of this year’s feature length adaptations of the classic children’s story. Disney’s Pinocchio is a live action remake of their acclaimed and beloved 1940 animated feature.

This star studded remake comes from Director, Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Polar Express), and stars Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan) as Gepetto, the lonely toy maker who wishes upon a star one fateful night that his marionette, Pinocchio, could be a real boy.

Pinocchio is voiced by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Emmerdale, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Sandman) in his first ever major theatrical role, and he is joined by:

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Premium Rush, Don Jon, Super Pumped) as the voice of Jiminy Cricket
  • Luke Evans (The Three Musketeers, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Beauty And The Beast) as The Coachman
  • Cynthia Erivo (Widows, Harriet, Genius) as The Blue Fairy
  • Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos, Rizolli & Isles, Blue Bloods) as the voice of Sofia The Seagull
  • Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Pentaverate) as the voice of Honest John
  • Sheila Atim (Harlots, The Underground Railroad, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) as Signora Vitelli
  • Lewin Lloyd (Taboo, The Alienist, His Dark Materials) as Lampwick

Walt Disney Studios have released a brand new official trailer for Pinocchio, giving us an even better glimpse than the teaser at how acclaimed Director, Robert Zemeckis, and his crew and cast have adapted the beloved animated classic into a hybrid world of animation and live action.

Judging by this latest trailer, Pinocchio, which will see release globally on Thursday September 8th as part of Disney+ Day, looks incredibly faithful to Disney’s original animated movie. Seeming to retain all of the heart and magic of the original while still finding it’s own way of telling the story.
