A new trailer for Disco Elysium, a stylised and tongue-in-cheek CRPG from Studio Zaum, has dropped, and reveals its release date along with the kooky features players will look forward to in the game.

Disco Elysium is the story of a detective solving cases in a sumptuous yet deteriorating urban fantasy city called Revachol. The detective possesses a quirky arsenal of skills — 24 of them in fact — and they will speak to the character to guide, confuse, and observe them. Using a ‘revolutionary dialogue system’, the detective will chat, manipulate, aid, and fall in love with a charming and haunting cast of NPCs.

Freedom is valued above all else in Disco Elysium. The detective could engage with the sprawling murder investigation hanging over the city, or pick up a multitude of side quests. They could go to a rave, become a prophet, or pump iron. Whether they do achieve the title of ‘the greatest detective’ is down to dice rolls on skill checks, and the character can arm themselves with a range of tools from a sidearm, to a sword, to a boombox. And, a wardrobe stuffed with 80 items of attire lets the detective find their own personal style, perhaps putting on the ‘horrific necktie’ for vivid imagination buff.

Disco Elysium will release for PC on October 15. Watch the new trailer below.
