The Division’s Xbox One beta is up and running and Digital Foundry has spotted that it’s possible to make tweaks to the game’s graphics thanks a two settings found within the “Visuals” menu.
First up is the option to toggle Chromatic Aberration on or off. The default state is on, presenting a rougher look which is designed to mimic the effect of a film lens. It’s an effect used in the likes of Bloodborne, The Order 1886 and to a lesser degree GTA 5. Those hoping for a cleaner look to the visuals can simply turn the option off.
Also available to experiment with is the “sharpen image” slider which has a direct impact on the level of anti-aliasing used to clean up jagged edges. Digital Foundry notes that upping the slider to 75/100 creates a much clearer image, but going any higher results in a white halo effect on edges. You’ll have to mess around with the setting to see which best suits your taste.
The PC and PS4 editions enter the beta at 12pm today so we’ll be able to see what kind of options are available on these platforms too.
