Blizzard has announced details of Diablo III’s runestones which allow users to customise the look and effect of skills.
The game will include five runestone types: Crimson, Indigo, Obsidian, Golden, and Alabaster. These will modify your skills in various ways. According to the Blizzard website, adding “Crimson Runestone to a skill may enhance its damage, while adding an Alabaster Runestone might add a stun effect.”
Runestones will also come in different ranks which will affect how the stone strengthens your skills, giving you hundreds of potential combinations to experiment with.
Diablo III is said to enter beta in Q3 of this year.
Diablo III has been in development since 2001 so it’s good to see more details being officially announced if only to whet my appetite for when it finally bloody comes out.
