Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion is finally here across a host of platforms, even managing to crack player number records on PC. However, the new expansion is not without issue as many players have found themselves unable to use the new Diablo 4 class: Spiritborn.
Diablo 4 Spiritborn bug
As the first new class in the Diablo series in almost a decade, the arrival of the Spiritborn is a huge part of the expansion’s appeal. However, on Xbox, players have found themselves unable to use the new class, despite purchasing the expansion.
While the arrival of Spiritborn isn’t the only new addition for the Vessel of Hatred expansion, it is one of the more interesting features. However, the expansion also comes with a brand-new endgame, a party finder feature and a full campaign with the diabolical Mephisto.
Nevetherless, Diablo 4 players on Xbox are rightfully confused and annoyed as the Vessel of Hatred expansion fails to unlock the new class. For players who own the new expansion, Spiritborn should be unlocked right from the start, but many are finding the class trapped behind a huge “locked” icon.
An issue with Xbox DLC
As it turns out, figuring out how to unlock Spiritborn on Xbox is incredibly easy. Instead of an actual bug with the game’s latest update, the bug is actually an issue on the side of the Xbox One and Xbox Series UI.
To fix the issue, all players need to do is navigate to “manage game” for Diablo 4 in your game library. On this screen, under DLC, download all the addons, hit save and allow the game to update. After this, the Spiritborn class should be unlocked on all Xbox platforms.
Some players have noted that this fix also doesn’t work. If that’s the case, you’ll have to reinstall the entire game with all addons to make everything work, which is annoying for fans looking to jump straight into the game.
