It’s fair to say that a lot of Diablo 4 players have not been happy with the current direction of Diablo 4 Season 1, The Season of the Malignant. In line with this, fans have now taken to social media to air their frustrations at the lack of Platinum currency the first season’s Battle Pass awards players.

Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit many players have been quick to point out just how low the amount of Platinum currency they actually unlock from the game’s Season 1 Battle Pass is. One player said, “The Battle Pass Gives 666 Platinum. The Cheapest Item in the Store is 800 Platinum.” Players were bewildered at Blizzard’s decision to limit the amount of currency earned for the Battle Pass with one user saying, “With what, 30 items in the store(?), you’d expect you’d be able to buy at least one of them.”

The lack of premium currency available in Blizzard games is certainly not a new phenomenon as players previously complained about the lack of in-game ways to obtain Overwatch credits in Overwatch 2. Speaking on the lack of available Battle Pass Platinum in Diablo 4 one player said, “We knew this would happen and yet somehow we’re still disappointed.”

Other players pointed out that this amount of Platinum currency would likely not be enough to even purchase next season’s Premium Battle Pass. Although this has not yet been confirmed, the player drew comparisons to other Battle Pass-centric games like Battlefield which at the very least ensured players would have enough premium currency to afford the following season’s Battle Pass as well. They said, “It’s a shame, as I imagine to get the premium pass next season, it’ll cost more than 666 plat. At least with Battlefield 2042, of all f**king things, they give you enough coins with each pass to get the next season without paying anything.”

Whether Blizzard will address this concern at the Diablo 4 Season 1 Campfire Chat later today will remain to be seen but players really aren’t happy about the current situation regarding the game’s Platinum currency. In other Diablo 4 news, Diablo 4 Season 1 new Unique item makes the Sorcerer even more unplayable.
