Diablo 4 Season 1 has been filled with a plethora of issues that have been both frustrating and highly entertaining but alas, it seems that another annoying glitch has made its way into Blizzard’s ARPG in the form of the Resource Burn affix bug.
For those unfamiliar, the Diablo 4 Nightmare Dungeon Resource Burn affix is exactly what its name implies – monster attacks from a distance remove a certain percentage of your main resource (mana for the Sorceress, energy for the Rogue, etc.). Since most builds rely on the use of these resources, many have often considered this specific modifier an “auto salvage,” meaning most players don’t even bother running dungeons with these affixes and would much rather destroy it for resources.
Unfortunately, based on a Diablo 4 subreddit post from Emotional_Engine9, it seems that a Resource Burn bug has been plaguing the game since the launch of Season 1 as monster melee attacks now erase your character’s main ability supply as well. In their thread, Emotional_Engine9 was visibly disgruntled after saying: “It is so fu***** frustrating to not have your resource fighting [a mob] because every single freaking one [burns] your resource.”
With numerous players having already been disappointed with this particular NMD modifier, this latest glitch further convinced others to automatically salvage Nightmare Sigils with this affix as FocusFactor_ said: “The Resource Burn affix could be nerfed in half and I would still salvage every Sigil that rolls it. Needs to be reworked or removed altogether.” MoxRhino then responded to the previous statement by noting that “the whole concept of taking away one of the biggest aspects of the game is bonkers.”
Of course, with the Diablo 4 Resource Burn issue merely being a bug and not actually an inherent element of the game, the developers are surely already working on trying to remove it from their highly successful ARPG. However, those waiting for a nerf to this specific modifier will need to remain patient for now as a Nightmare Sigil affix rework will undoubtedly take longer than a bug fix.
