Throughout the years, Blizzard’s Diablo series has frequently provided its loyal community with a diverse collection of character classes and the latest installment, Diablo 4, is no different. Boasting a small, yet solid assembly of choices featuring series staples like the Barbarian and Necromancer, the latest ARPG entry has predictably been met with a ton of fanfare even with its limited starting options.
Now that we’re already well into the game’s release, however, Diablo 4 players have now begun pleading with the developers to bring back one of the best Diablo 4 classes that’s already been included in previous iterations: the Paladin. The class that’s most often synonymous with being both a Tank and a Support has naturally become one of the most beloved character types in the series’ history because of its versatility and its capabilities as both a hard-hitting bruiser and a beefy frontline protector.
Unfortunately, the Diablo 4 development team, though largely communicative, have given no indication yet regarding their plans for the return of the beloved holy knight. For this reason, some devoted fans have predictably taken to Reddit to plead for this class’s return as one user named Surreptum even created a post asking where the Paladin is since it also wasn’t included with the launch of Diablo 3.
Based on the post’s popularity, it appears a large number of community members are wondering the same thing since the series often rotates starting classes with each release. Handsome_Dad, however, couldn’t help but point out that Diablo 4 gave the player base “Druid at launch this time,” to which the post creator replied: “True. They’re doing better than Diablo 3. Still, Paladin was my favorite class in Diablo 2.”
With no word from Blizzard yet as to what their plans are for introducing new classes to Diablo 4, players will just have to sit tight for the time being until more information is revealed regarding the return of the Paladin. Luckily, the wait for the community may not be too long now since the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date is just around the corner.
