Blizzard’s Diablo 4 has been met with a tonne of pushback over the past year for buggy updates, unexciting itemisation and myriad other issues. However, it seems that Blizzard is cooking a massive update for the ARPG that fixes a lot of players’ gripes with the games.

While the studio also works on making bosses less annoying to grind, Blizzard has shown a number of Diablo 4 content creators some in-the-works improvements for the game that appear to be very exciting.

Diablo 4 devs show huge improvements to content creators

Over the weekend, a number of content creators have come out to hype up some upcoming improvements coming to Blizzard’s ARPG in the near future. While nobody revealed any specific mechanics or updates coming to the game, a number of high-profile players have shared their excitement for what’s coming.

One of the most exciting parts of the behind-closed-doors showing is the fact that the next Diablo 4 expansion has been shown off. YouTuber Lucky Ghost revealed that Blizzard showed them the next expansion for the game, which isn’t set to release until sometime next year.

“Just got off a call with Blizzard about the stuff they are cooking up for the next Diablo 4 Expansion,” he wrote. “There are some MASSIVE changes / HUGE new features. They’ve got some big ambitions with this one. I can’t share specifics yet but can say a lot of people are gonna be excited!”

One of the biggest complaints over the past year is that Blizzard is simply not listening to the community’s issues. Instead, the game’s over-reliance on seasonal updates has proven to be a detriment to the ARPG and the game feels like it’s plodding along. However, some who have been made privy to Blizzard’s upcoming plans say that they feel heard for the first time since launch.

“Last night some people including myself got a glimpse of Diablo IV ‘s future,” ARPG streamer Wudijo said on Twitter. “Take all the stuff I have been complaining about for the past 1.5 years and imagine I ACTUALLY felt heard.”

One of the biggest calls for the ARPG since launch is for Blizzard to include some kind of Holy Class in the next expansion with everyone clamouring for the release of Paladin. If players have been “heard” and the expansion is as good as it seems, maybe the Paladin is making his bombastic return sometime soon.

When one fan told Lucky Ghost they hope to see a “warrior class like Paladin or Crusader” in the next expansion, the content creator replied: “That WOULD be amazing, wouldn’t it!” Hmm, I wonder what that could mean.

Any bets on Paladin being in that expansion?

Blizzard quickly walked back on its original plans for annual expansions for its live-service MMO, which isn’t too surprising. With the rapid season releases and other updates, building yearly expansions is a massive task. However, it seems like the next expansion for the game is coming alongside some huge changes, and we’re very excited to see what that means for the game.
