Blizzard’s current updates for Diablo 4 have been underwhelming, especially with the continued focus on seasons instead of meaningful updates. However, the developers behind the live-service ARPG appear to be working on a way to make the grind a little bit easier.

At the time of writing, every boss in Diablo 4 has an immunity phase, a period where fans can’t continue to damage a boss as a lengthy animation plays out. This stops players from being able to sweep bosses in quick runs, and many have failed for the removal of these phases.

As it turns out, Blizzard is working on some form of alterations for the immunity phases of bosses in the ARPG, which should allow players to increase the effectiveness of their runs. However, exact details have yet to be revealed.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Blizzard Director of Social and Content Marketing Adam Fletcher explained that the team is working on addressing the controversial immunity phases of bosses for a future update.

In response to a fan asking to “remove immunity from Andy/Duriel/Mephisto Dog”, Fletcher confirmed “there are plans to fix this up” internally at Blizzard. Hopefully, it won’t be long until this fix is added into the game.

If you’re a hardcore players who spends hours grinding bosses for materials and items (so, like you play Diablo 4) then this change will make a world of difference whenever it actually releases. We don’t expect this change to be added during Season 9, but hopefully it can be added later this year.

Additionally, Blizzard is still working on the rest of its 2025 Roadmap with more seasons, another IP crossover for paid cosmetics and more. Furthermore, the studio is also working on the next expansion for the game which is scheduled to launch sometime during 2026.
