One Diablo 4 player has found a way to break Blizzard’s RPG by dealing too much damage for the game to calculate. Playing on the new Vessel of Hatred PTR server, the player found a way to deal enough damage for the game to fall apart.
Diablo 4 player deals infinite damage
Content creator Rob2628, known for their history of discovering Diablo exploits, discovered the maximum amount of damage possible in Blizzard’s RPG. In the 2.0 PTR server, the YouTuber found a way to deal infinite damage. Well, kinda.
In the creator’s latest video, they used the Whirlwind Barbarian to deal the most damage ever in Diablo 4. By using a “spin to win Barbarian” stacked with Thorns and Maximum Life. By exploiting the Thorns ability Barbed Carapace, granting more Thorns as a player continues their attack, they can infinitely stack damage as they spin.
Combined with two new Runewords, the Barbarian can generate near-constant attack speed by holding a single attack. By using this devious combination, even a Tier 100 boss in the Pit can be decimated in seconds.
As shown in the video, this exploit brings damage up to 40-digit numbers, capping at somewhere over 333 undecillion before the game’s damage calculation completely breaks. After this number is passed, the game’s damage numbers simply become an infinity symbol instead.
A patch will come
If you want to play around with this brilliant Diablo 4 exploit, you will have to act fast. In the PTR server, patches are always on the way, and Blizzard is aware of the infinite damage glitch. This means that the launch version of Patch 2.0 and Vessel of Hatred will not be able to be exploited in this manner.
“Obviously, this is very broken,” Rob2628 said in his video. “This, by no means, will make it into the live game. It’s just way too crazy.”
Alongside this infinite damage glitch, another D4 player managed to find an easy XP exploit that can take players to max level in just twenty minutes. While this may seem like a busted experience, PTR servers exist entirely to find bugs and exploits before launch.
