While Diablo 4 has a load of gameplay and story content for players to sink their time into, some players are noting the lack of scale when it comes to the game’s 125 dungeons. This has in turn led to players feeling nostalgic and disappointed that Diablo 4’s dungeons don’t resemble that of the larger, more open dungeons of Diablo 2.
The Diablo Reddit has been deep in discussion over the last 24 hours about this topic with user Altnob saying, “I really miss big dungeons with multiple floors and zero objectives.” Going into further detail in their post they noted, “There are 125 dungeons in this game and there isn’t a single one that’s just a massive layout with multiple levels. Give me an Act 3 style Sewers Dungeon or Durance of Hate.” They continued by adding, “I’m just really over the ‘door is locked do xyz’ mechanic that EVERY SINGLE DUNGEON has.”
Another user wanted Diablo 4 to take a page out of the original Diablo game’s book saying, “Give us an entrance or two somewhere on the map. Have the dungeon be huge and somewhere in there put some stairs or a hole in the ground that takes us down another level. As we venture further down make the enemies harder and the loot better. Eventually, let us make our way to hell.”
Other players such as iDuddits_ have even been calling on Blizzard to introduce a “palace of the dead/gauntlet.” This dungeon would be, “Up to 99 floors, big boss every 5-10 and it keeps getting harder. One wipe and it’s over.” Honestly, we think this sounds like a great idea. Adding a more roguelike element to Diablo 4 would definitely help with gameplay variety. It would also be exceptionally fun to see someone do this with their Hardcore character directly after finishing the main story.
Other players also seemed enthused about this idea with one player saying, “PotD, Diablo style, would be a dream come true for me. I solo grinded PotD for years and never got bored. PLEASE I NEED!”
This isn’t the only change Diablo 4 fans are asking of Blizzard as just yesterday, Diablo 4 fans called on Blizzard for CC nerfs. However, in more positive news, Diablo 4 players think Necro’s world drops are better looking than paid cosmetics.
