Hot on the heels of Capcom announcing a playable Devil May Cry 4 demo, due to hit Xbox Live and PSN in early 2008, we’ve had word from the Japanese publisher that it’s still aiming towards a February European release date for the hotly anticipated combo carve-up.

However, there’s still no word from Capcom on whether we’ll be seeing a special edition of the game, already confirmed for US release on February 5 2008.

Adding fuel to speculation that European gamers might not be seeing a special edition of the game is confirmation from Capcom that the EU release of Volume 1 of Devil May Cry: The Animated Series won’t be synchronised with the videogame’s release, as is happening in the US.

In the States the special edition of DMC4 will come bundled with the DVD, which is slated for a Feb 5 release. The DVD will also be available separately.

When contacted by VideoGamer.com, a Capcom spokesperson said that Volume 1 of Devil May Cry: The Animated Series won’t be out in Europe until “March/April”.

When asked whether this suggested the game wouldn’t be released until March/April, the spokesperson replied: “We’re still on for February for the game being out. We are not syncing with the DVD at all”.
