Gamers looking to get into Modern Warfare 2 may be greeted by a certain error – DEV Error 6036. But what does this mean?
DEV Error 6036 first popped up during the original Modern Warfare game. It’s shown when the multiplayer map data has not been downloaded correctly. To resolve this, make sure to verify the installation and ensure the game is updated to the latest build.
NOW READ: Here’s when you’ll be able to play Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer
The error most likely happened as the game has not fully downloaded yet – so the build of the game is incomplete. Make sure to check the console or Battle.Net launcher to make sure there are no downloads taking place.
Also, try to avoid any disruption to the download process while it’s going on – it may be best to just leave it downloading, rather than straining the bandwidth by playing the game.
If the problem persists, head over to the Battle.net launcher and do an automatic fix. If MW2 is anything like the last game, disabling Cache Spot and Cache Sun Shadows and then rebooting may also help solve the issue.
Modern Warfare 2 is out on October 28 for Xbox, PS and PC.
