The latest issue of Famitsu magazine (via Gematsu) has revealed Destiny Connect, a brand new title currently in development for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 from Nippon Ichi.

Directed by Yoshihiko Toda, Destiny Connect takes the form of an RPG set in the town of Clocknee, which is apparently steeped in nostalgia. Details on the story are a bit light right now, but revolves around three characters: Sherry, Pegreo, and Isaac the robot.

The narrative kicks off on December 31, 1999, and involves travelling back to the past after Sherry discovers some sort of time-hopping phenomenon. In terms of combat, we can expect a command-based affair that triggers battles when you touching a symbol on te game map.

Destiny Connect employs visuals similar to those seen in animated 3D movies, and its nostalgic setting aims to channel the atmosphere of classic RPGs from the days of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

There's not much else known at this point, although the game has been confirmed for release in Japan on February 28, 2019. A western release has yet to be pinned down.
